ORLANDO, FL – iGPS Logistics, the nation’s leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions featuring its lightweight, 100% recyclable shipping pallets, is the recipient of two new industry awards. The company has won the Supply and Demand Chain Executive (SDCE) 2021 Green Supply Chain Award, and the Food Logistics Top Software and Technology Providers Award.
These awards come at the end of yet another challenging year for the industry, as companies continue to navigate the ongoing pandemic while dealing with unprecedented disruptions to the global supply chain.
SDCE’s annual Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies that make sustainability and green business efforts a key component of their supply chain strategy. In addition to being recyclable and manufactured from post-consumer resin, the lighter weight and increased durability of the iGPS pallet contributes a smaller carbon footprint. For every 100,000 iGPS pallets that the company’s customers ship, nearly 1,000 gallons of fuel are saved, and there is a reduction of more than 20,000 pounds of greenhouse emissions.
Meanwhile, the Top Software and Technology Providers Award, formerly the FL100+, honors leading technology innovators that contribute to a reliable, efficient food and beverage supply chain. iGPS was recognized for its state-of-the-art plastic pallet, which features an embedded RFID chip for easy tracking and traceability.
iGPS, the national leader in the plastic pooling industry, is the previous recipient of both of these industry honors, and numerous other awards for sustainability and leading-edge innovation.
“We are grateful, once again, to be honored by our friends at Supply and Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics,” said Jeff Pepperworth, President and CEO of iGPS Logistics. “Even as the industry confronts numerous obstacles, manufacturers and retailers remain committed to creating a stronger, smarter, and more sustainable supply chain. iGPS is proud to play an important role in making this happen, and we look forward to tackling the challenges of 2022 and beyond.”
About iGPS Logistics:
iGPS Logistics is North America’s only pooler of 48”×40” GMA-spec plastic shipping pallets. iGPS pallets generate measurable savings in transport expense, reduced product damage, and other operational efficiencies. iGPS’ platform is a major advance in supply chain hygiene — a platform that can easily be cleaned. It will not absorb fluids that can lead to contamination and never requires treatment with toxic pesticides or fungicides.
Measuring a true 48” x 40”, iGPS’ platform enables larger load patterns and is ideally suited for automated environments. And it puts an end to broken boards and protruding nails that can damage equipment, endanger workers, jam production lines and litter workplaces. An independent life cycle analysis has documented that iGPS’ solution is better for the environment than both one-way and multiuse wood pallets.
