Logistics Sustainability Leader to Plant 100,000 New Trees Over Three Years
ORLANDO, FL – iGPS Logistics, the nation’s leading provider of plastic pooling solutions featuring its lightweight, 100% recyclable shipping pallets, has announced a partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), the nonprofit arm of the U.S. Forest Service. Through this agreement, as part of NFF’s national 50 Million For Our Forests campaign, iGPS will sponsor the planting of 100,000 trees in protected United States forests over the next three years.
“Our National Forest System spans 193 million acres and sustains more than 3,000 species of wildlife and 10,000 species of plants,” said Mindy Crowell, NFF’s Reforestation Partnerships Director. “By sponsoring the planting of new seedlings in our Forests, partners like iGPS are helping us fight climate change, conserve endangered wildlife habitats, and restore damage caused by wildfires and natural disasters.”
The NFF was chartered by Congress in 1992 to work with communities and the U.S. Forest Service to support the stewardship and restoration of national forests. Each year, the NFF uses public and private funding to promote conservation education and restore thousands of trees to fish and wildlife habitats nationwide, from Alaska to Florida.
“At iGPS, environmental sustainability is at the heart of our mission and values,” said Jeff Pepperworth, president and CEO of iGPS. “Since 2017, we have reused more than 80,000 tons of post-consumer plastic in the making of our recyclable plastic pallets, and because of their lighter weight, our customers are reducing greenhouse emissions with every pallet they ship. By partnering with the National Forest Foundation, we are affirming our company-wide commitment to a greener planet.”
Pepperworth added that iGPS’s sponsorship will also help offset the impact of the company’s own carbon footprint. “100,000 trees will collectively absorb about 50,000 tons of carbon emissions from the atmosphere over the course of their lifetimes,” he said.
“iGPS has deservedly won numerous industry awards for its efforts to create a more sustainable, eco-friendly supply chain,” said Mary Mitsos, president and CEO of NFF. “By supporting the restoration of our National Forests, they are putting their sustainability goals into action. We are grateful to iGPS, and all our industry partners, for their generous support.”

About iGPS Logistics:
iGPS Logistics is North America’s only pooler of 48” x 40” CBA-spec plastic shipping pallets. iGPS pallets generate measurable savings in transport expense, reduced product damage, and other operational efficiencies. iGPS’ platform is a major advance in supply chain hygiene — a platform that can easily be cleaned. It will not absorb fluids that can lead to contamination and never requires treatment with toxic pesticides or fungicides.
Measuring at 48” x 40”, iGPS’ platform enables larger load patterns and is ideally suited for automated environments. And it puts an end to broken boards and protruding nails that can damage equipment, endanger workers, jam production lines and litter workplaces. An independent life cycle analysis has documented that iGPS’ solution is better for the environment than both one-way and multiuse wood pallets. iGPS has been named a “Top Green Provider” by Food Logistics, a “Top Green Supply Chain Partner” by Inbound Logistics, and is also a recipient of the Supply and Demand Chain Executive SDCE 100 Award.
