Orlando, FL — iGPS Logistics, the nation’s leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions featuring its lightweight, recyclable shipping pallets, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Top Supply Chain Projects Award by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. The award was given in recognition of iGPS’s pilot project to implement an integrated, fully automated pallet inspection and washing system within its network of pallet depots.

“iGPS needed a solution that would enable the company to more rapidly inspect pallets for contamination and defects as well as quickly clean them so they could be returned to circulation,” said Jonathan Parks, SVP of Supply Chain at iGPS. “No automated turnkey system existed on the market, so a fully bespoke solution needed to be designed.”
iGPS established strategic partnerships with IVYSIS, a technology company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and Arnold Machine, a full-service design and manufacturing services company based in Tiffin, Ohio.
The resulting solution uses a system of electronic “eyes” as iGPS plastic pallets move across a conveyor, and an AI-driven deep neural network meticulously and instantly scans pallets for the smallest defects, including some issues that the human eye might not even detect. The system automatically sorts pallets needed for washing, and every component of the integrated washing system, from the pumps and nozzles to the water temperature, was designed for the iGPS pallet. iGPS initially rolled out the solution at five depots and the company ultimately expects that the depots handling the majority of its pallets nationwide will be fully automated.
“We are tremendously grateful to our technology partners, and to the supply chain experts at Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, for this exciting industry recognition,” said Jeff Pepperworth, President and CEO of iGPS. “We look forward to continuing to innovate in the development of solutions that power a faster, leaner, and more sustainable supply chain.”
About iGPS Logistics:
iGPS Logistics is North America’s only pooler of 48” x 40” CBA-spec plastic shipping pallets. iGPS pallets generate measurable savings in transport expense, reduced product damage, and other operational efficiencies. iGPS’ platform is a major advance in supply chain hygiene — a platform that can easily be cleaned. It will not absorb fluids that can lead to contamination and never requires treatment with toxic pesticides or fungicides.
Measuring at 48” x 40”, iGPS’ platform enables larger load patterns and is ideally suited for automated environments. And it puts an end to broken boards and protruding nails that can damage equipment, endanger workers, jam production lines and litter workplaces. An independent life cycle analysis has documented that iGPS’ solution is better for the environment than both one-way and multiuse wood pallets. iGPS has been named a “Top Green Provider” by Food Logistics, a “Top Green Supply Chain Partner” by Inbound Logistics, and is also a recipient of the Supply and Demand Chain Executive SDCE 100 Award.
